to the first instalment of my new monthly newsletter…and what an absolute NUTBALL of a month to start with! Manic is not the word. Massive thanks and eternal gratitude to all who have worked so hard to transform the studios into a gallery space to be proud of… its all starting to take shape and I’m so excited to see the spaces as they begin to fill once more with amazing work.

Come and see the culmination of three years hard graft in what promises to be an amazing display of work from Manchester’s finest Fine Artists…!.

Class of 2023 Publication

Today marks the launch of the A-N Class of 2023 Degree Shows Guide, an annual round up of the must-see shows which are soon to start on campuses across the UK. What an absolute privilege to be selected to feature in this years’ offering – the 25th edition no less! I was interviewed by artist, gallerist, and critic Valerie Zwart about my practice, process and plans for the future, you can access the guide here: https://www.a-n.co.uk/news/a-n-degree-shows-guide-2023-celebrating-25-years-supporting-new-artists/#:~:text=The%20just%2Dpublished%20a%2Dn%20Degree,students%20from%20across%20the%20UK.

Exhibiting Soon

Next week sees the opening of Bring It! An exhibition at Aire Place Studio in Leeds where I’m looking forward to showing my sculptural suspension Vestige.

The work started life as a development of my work Mettle, a welded steel sculpture which is on view at The Whitaker Museum and Art Gallery in Rossendale. Where Mettle represents both spine and scar and speaks of the line between strength and fragility, Vestige shines a light on the invisible scars we all have and how they can inform our perceptions.

Showing: May 19 - June 2 Aire Place Studios, Leeds

Kusama Drama!

So, I once again booked tickets to see Yayoi Kusama's Infinity Rooms at Tate Modern... and yet again I have had to cancel!

This time it'd due to the train national strikes and the FA Cup Final between Man United and Man City... fingers crossed for a fourth time lucky!
